Latin America Calls! was a Catholic publication that encouraged Americans to “go to Latin America; help others go,” in an attempt to prevent the spread of communist influence in poor rural regions. Organized by Cardinal Cushing of Boston in 1963, the magazine was open about its political leanings, declaring in giant ads published in each issue that “Hungry Kids Make Hardy Communists.” See early examples of the newsletter here.
