Meg Crahan

Dr. Crahan wrote her doctoral dissertation on colonial Peru in 1967 while teaching at Hunter College in the Bronx, N.Y. She went on a speaking tour with exiled congressman Márcio Moreira Alves to campuses on the East Coast and in the Midwest. “At the LASA meeting, there was a sense of being the younger generation. Many people had just recently finished [their dissertations], and a substantial delegation came from the West Coast. For a lot of us, we had not had a face-to face [contact] before, and we felt a lot of commonality.”
