Riordan Roett is a political scientist focusing on Latin America. He received his Ph.D. from Columbia University in political science and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Between 1967 and 1973, he was an assistant professor and acting director of the Center for Latin American Studies at Vanderbilt University. He is currently Professor of Political Science and the Director of the Western Hemisphere Program at the Johns Hopkins University’s Paul H.
